Surfing is for everyone, anyone can learn how to surf with the right instructor and environment - this is what we offer. At I Surf Portugal Surf School in Porto, we teach you the essential techniques to start your surfing adventure while having fun. Whether you just want to try it once or really want to become a surfer, this is for you!

Our surf school is certified by the Portuguese Surfing Federation (FPS). We have lessons all-year-round for all levels, and our package includes pick up from central Porto, surf lesson with a certified surf instructor, and all the surf gear.

We are a clean & safe surf school following all health & safety measures.

HIGHLIGHTS

Transfer from Porto

We pick you up from central Porto in front of Trindade station - check Google maps and take you 20 kms North of Porto. Meeting times depend on the tides and ocean conditions, you will receive an email 1 day before the lesson with pick up times.

Surf Spot

We usually surf at the beach of Azurara, in our opinion the best surf spot in the North of Portugal. Azurara is a protected beach with a long pier in the North which makes it a great surfing spot in most conditions all year-round. The beach is in a natural reserve with sand dunes and clean water (avoid the polluted beach of Matosinhos in Porto).

Surf Level

We have surf lessons for all levels. Whether you are a pure beginner, have already had a few surf lessons (intermediate) or have been surfing for a while and can already do the take-off on a green wave and a bottom turn (advanced), we will be able to help you correct and fine tune your surfing technique. We have softboards for beginners as well as a selection of hard surfboards with different sizes for intermediate and advanced surfers.

HOW IT WORKS

Book online, or WhatsApp / email if less than 24 hours before the lesson.
You will receive a booking confirmation and another email 1 day before the lesson with the meeting time (Lessons time vary depending on the tides)
Come to the meeting point in front of the Town Hall in central Porto 5 mins before (you'll receive the exact Google Maps location in your confirmation email)
We take you to the best surf spot for your surf lesson
Enjoy your surf lesson with a certified and experienced surf instructor
We drive you back to central Porto after the lesson

We run classes every day throughout the year unless the conditions do not allow. If the lesson has to be canceled due to very bad weather or dangerous surfing conditions (could happen in the winter), you will get a full refund.

1 SURF LESSON
